Telekom Romania Mobile launches the 2024 „Telekom Scholarship” program
- Telekom Romania Mobile continues to get involved in shaping the new generation’s future, by supporting youth’s education and performance.
- Since launching „Telekom Scholarship”, more than 2,500 students applied for the program and 130 benefited from a total of EUR 450,000 in financial support granted through monthly scholarships.
Telekom Romania Mobile announces the opening of applications for the "Telekom Scholarships" youth support program, in which ten first-year students will receive scholarships of 3,300 lei each during their studies.
First-year students are eligible, with very good school results, very well-established career goals, with extra-curricular projects and outstanding volunteering activities, enrolled in a state higher education institution in Romania, undergraduate study program, budget categories or fee, per day, for the following specializations: automation and computers, informatics, cybernetics, mathematics, electrical engineering, electronics, respectively telecommunications and information technology.
The financial support is equal to the minimum wage in the economy in force between January and June 2024, monthly, for each student. Currently, it is 3,300 lei gross and can be changed depending on the Government's decisions in 2024.
“Willing to contribute to the training of the best of Romania's youth, we have been offering these scholarships since 2010 to outstanding students who have the potential to become tomorrow's leaders. Given the high demand in the labour market for the workforce specialized in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), it is important to support young people who have exceptional academic results and equally, get involved in projects that help to acquire different types of skills, thus becoming more efficient and prepared for the future”, said Ștefania Petre, Director of External Affairs and Security, Telekom Romania Mobile.
The Telekom Scholarship competition is organised in two phases. The first stage, which is also eliminatory, involves filling and sending an application form on the website
www.burseletelekom.ro. In this stage, 20 finalists will be selected, who will qualify for the second stage - participation in an online interview - after which the winners of the 10 scholarships will be selected.
This year's edition takes place between November 14
th, 2023, and January 18
th, 2024, as follows:
- November 14th, 2023, 12:00 p.m. – December 29th, 2023, 6:00 p.m. - registration of candidates on the website www.burseletelekom.ro.
- January 8th, 2024 - announcement of the 20 finalists.
- January 16th, 2024 – online interview session with the Telekom Scholarships jury.
- January 18th, 2024 – announcement of the 10 winning students.
The "Telekom Scholarships" jury is composed of communication professionals and academics and teaching staff from specialized higher education institutions.
"Telekom Scholarships" is a corporate responsibility program of Telekom Romania Mobile, organized with the aim of identifying young people with leadership potential, passionate about the field they have chosen for study, with very good school results and very good career goals well established, which stood out through extracurricular projects and volunteer activities. The program was launched in 2010 and over the years has supported students with outstanding performance in their field of study. Until now, 130 scholarship holders, students at prestigious universities in Romania, have benefited from financial support from Telekom Romania Mobile.
