20.01.2021 100% online onboarding,a new facility launched by Telekom Banking
Bucharest,
January 20
th 2021 - Telekom Banking, the financial
project developed within the framework of the partnership between Telekom Romania and Alior Bank, the local branch of one of the largest banks in Poland,
launches the new generation of opening a bank account through a 100% online process, thus confirming the commitment to digitization and innovation on the Romanian market. The solution was developed in partnership with Onfido, a fintech company that provides the technology needed to confirm users' identities via smartphones.
Since the launch of Telekom Banking's offer on the Romanian market in October 2017, Alior Bank has positioned itself as a digital bank, being among the first banks to offer customers the possibility of opening a remote bank account using the courier, a process that was later improved by identifying customers based on a bank transfer.
The new account opening process is now simplified, tailored to current trends preferred by digitalized generation, and provides a fast and secure experience, without other interactions or issuing of digital certificates. Clients can request to open their current accounts on the
www.telekombanking.ro website or through the Telekom Banking mobile app, which they can download free of charge from
AppStore or
Google Play.
Clients who open a current online account benefit of a complete package of products and banking services that facilitate them to carry out daily operations: access to accounts from wherever they are, free online transfers in lei and euros (in the SEE area), free withdrawals from any ATM in the world without commissions and online opening of deposits or savings accounts with advantageous interest rates. The c
urrent account administration is free of
charge if the clients transfer
a minimum amount of 650 lei per month after the first 3 months
after opening. Internet and Mobile Banking services are also free
of charge.
The process of opening the account is quick and simple and can be carried out from anywhere and at any time. The applicant only needs an internet-connected device, the ID card and a second identification document, such as a driver's license, and the bank's verification of its identity will be based on a few seconds video selfie that he needs to upload to the app.
Thus, the onboarding process and issuing a debit card can take only few minutes, by following the steps presented in this video tutorial. The debit card is delivered free of charge by courier to the address entered in the app.
Once the current account is open, customers can use the Telekom Banking mobile application for daily operations, having a range of features available that allow them to make online or instant transfers to other users of the application, pay the bills, open savings products, request and manage debit cards, all designed in a simple, fast and secure way. The application meets the latest European digital security standards biometric-based on authentication in application, such as fingerprint or facial recognition, including confirmation of in-app transactions, Alior Bank Poland being one of the pioneers of European digital banking. "The current context, accelerated by the pandemic, is making banks to change the way they operate. If two - three years ago, it was essential to eliminate the customer's return to the bank for simple services, now more is needed. Clients expect from the banks a fast and easy experience, like one offered by a fintech. Therefore, Alior Bank experts have looked in detail at the need for each step in the online account opening stream and have removed what does not bring customer value. Thus, the customer has quick access to essential products through a friendly interface, from the comfort of the sofa or from the top of the mountain. In addition, through our call center, the client can quickly solve his financial needs or clarify any problems. We have a commitment to digitization, through the development of smooth processes, with minimal effort requested from the client, and in the next period we are preparing new surprises for our customers", said Ana Cernat, General Manager of Alior Bank S.A. Warsaw - Bucharest Branch.
