Telekom Romania announces offers and benefits in roaming, in compliance with the EU regulations

• Starting June 15, 2017, Cartela Telekom (voice and data) customers can communicate in roaming like when at home, with the new offer compatible with the roaming service;
• Starting June 15, 2017, all Telekom Romania mobile subscriptions will benefit of roaming in the Group 0*, without additional costs.

Starting June 15, 2017, Telekom Romania announces the offers for roaming including minutes, SMS and mobile data, in compliance with the regulations in the European Economic Area (EEA - the EU member states and Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway).

Thus, the national benefits (outside the network) granted for any Telekom Romania subscription, for mobile services, will be available in Group 0 roaming, too – the countries in the European Economic Space. For example, if the respective subscription includes national unlimited minutes and 100 national SMS, the subscriber will be entitled to use without additional tariffs unlimited minutes and the national SMS not consumed until the date of the travel in roaming Group – the countries in the European Economic Space.

In case the customer has a subscription with national minutes (outside the network) limited in number, once these are consumed the standard tariff for voice calls of 0.226 euro/minute, and for SMS of 0.06 euro/message, all with VAT included, is applicable.

Also, the national data in the contract (subscription / extra-options, possible bonuses) will be used in Roaming Group 0 without additional tariffs, up to the monthly upper limit of data in Roaming Group 0, if it is applicable to the contract. After exceeding the limit of the data, it is applicable an additional tariff worth 0.0098 euro/MB, VAT included, and after burning the national data in the contract, the standard tariff is applicable. The limit of data is determined based upon the active benefits at the moment of using the services in roaming, by dividing the double of the value of the monthly subscription to the regulated tariff, 7.7 euro/GB.

If there are extra-options or data bonuses, their value is added to the value of the subscription, according to the following formula (all without VAT): the maximum monthly limit of data in Roaming (GB) = (subscription value + value of extra-option + value of bonus) x2 / 7.7 euro/GB**.

The tariffs for the countries included in the roaming Group 1 (Swiss, Monaco, Gibraltar and Turkey), in roaming, will be:

• Local calls / towards Romania / towards EEA (Roaming Group 0 – EES) Group 1 – 0.06 euro/min, VAT included
  • Other destinations 1.666 euro/min, VAT included
  • Calls received 0.0129 euro/min, VAT included
• SMS – 0.024 euro/SMS, VAT included
• Data – 0.06 euro/MB, VAT included

Also, starting June 15 2017, the offer for Cartela Telekom includes two categories of tariff plans and options: tariff plans and options incompatible with the roaming service, which can be used only on the territory of Romania, and tariff plans and options compatible with the roaming service, which offer similar conditions of use of the resources on both the territory of Romania as well as in roaming in the EEA, according to the new regulations in the domains.

The options launched before June 15 2017 are incompatible with the roaming service, as the clients can use them only when they are on the territory of Romania.

The customers of the Cartela Telekom can migrate between offers compatible and incompatible with the roaming service based upon their communications needs, anytime they want, with a call to 1234, *100# or by accessing the MyAccount platform. If they are already in roaming, they can access the offers compatible with the roaming service with a call to +40766121234 or 100#, depending upon the technical capabilities of the network to which they logged in the visited country. These numbers are free of charge in EEA and are charged with the Roaming Avantaj rates in other countries.

The offer of Telekom Romania Mobile compatible with the roaming service includes a tariff plan offering tariffs of 10 eurocents/minute, 4 eurocents/SMS and 10 eurocents/MB, plus 3 options of 2, 4, and respectively 8 euro credit, addressing various budgets and needs of communication.

Thus, the 2 euro option with roaming offers tariffs of 5 eurocents/minute, 2 eurocents/SMS and 5 eurocents/MB, at 3G speeds.

The 4 euro option with roaming includes 100 units which can be used for minutes or SMS across Romania (inclusively in the Telekom Romania fixed and mobile networks) or for minutes or SMS in the EEA area for calls towards EEA countries, 50 international mobile minutes usable from Romania towards mobile networks in France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, UK and Spain, respectively 150 MB at 4G speeds, which can be used for data traffic consumed on the territory of Romania or any other state in the EEA.

The 8 euro option with roaming addresses the very active consumers, who travel frequently and have increased communication needs. The 8 euro option with roaming include unlimited minutes and SMS in the Telekom Romania network, accessible from the territory of Romania, 2,000 minutes or SMS in national fixed and mobile networks (outside the network), which can be used in roaming, too in EEA, for calls towards EEA countries (inclusively calls towards any mobile or fixed network in Romania, 300 international mobile minutes usable from the territory of Romania towards mobile networks in France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, UK and Spain, 8 GB of data traffic at 4G speeds plus the Gigaday 30 GB bonus granted automatically within the limit of 2.1 GB of mobile data in roaming per day, after the traffic consumed from the data included in the option and the daily bonus will be additionally charged with 0.0075 euro credit / MB, and after burning the data included, it will be applied the standard rate of 10 eurocents / MB.
